Recently, an initiative was launched to support young Bahraini entrepreneurs and help them turn their projects into a successful business.

The initiative called Intalqa (start-up) is a brainchild of the Nasser bin Hamad Foundation. A series of programmes will be launched under the initiative, which will develop and encourage the Bahraini youth to enter the scientific and technical sectors.

The scheme is targeted at specific industries including information technology, e-commerce, telecommunications, retail commerce, tourism and leisure, and media.

Participants of the programmes will receive legal and moral support, mentorship on various important subjects such legal and finance, and other sector-specific advice.

His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his delight at inaugurating the initiative. He underscored the importance of disseminating the culture of entrepreneurship and honing youth skills which would lead eventually to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
